Nursery — The Jungle Room, New Orleans
Every kids' room project starts with the same secret mission — create a space so magical, so completely theirs, that they actually WANT to be in it.
In this case the mission was specific. Two little boys. Two parents who were very ready to sleep through the night. And one bedroom that needed to feel like the greatest adventure in the world.
Challenge accepted.
We went full jungle. Not the safe, predictable kind — the kind that makes a child stop in the doorway and forget what they were about to ask for.
The chandelier was custom made — every single strand handcrafted by an artisan we found specifically for this project. It hangs in the room like something from a treehouse dream. The bookshelves were custom too — shaped like tree branches growing right out of the wall, because if you're going to do a jungle, you commit to the jungle.
We pulled colors directly from the wallpaper to paint the rest of the room — so everything flows together like one immersive world. The curtains carry the theme through every corner, right down to the last detail.
This is what we love most about kids' rooms. The permission to be completely, unapologetically whimsical. To care deeply about a chandelier made of strands and bookshelves shaped like trees — because to a five year old, that's not decoration.
That's magic.
