Laurel — Finding Color Again, Uptown New Orleans
Some clients come to us with a mood board. Others come with something more personal — a quiet readiness for a fresh start and a home that finally feels like theirs.
Our client was ready for both. She had two young children, a beautiful Uptown home with soaring ceilings, and a clear vision — she wanted color, joy, and spaces where her little family could truly feel at home.
The high ceilings gave us a gift. Instead of loading the walls with bold color — which would have felt heavy in the smaller rooms — we went up. We painted the ceilings in rich, unexpected tones that made each room feel taller, warmer, and full of personality without overwhelming the space. It's one of those decisions that sounds surprising until you see it — and then you can't imagine it any other way.
At the fireplace we created a focal point that anchors the living room — layered with a statement mirror, fresh flowers, and those rust-colored chairs that make you want to sit down and stay a while.
In the hallway, wallpaper turns a forgotten passthrough into a moment worth pausing at. And the breakfast nook — a small corner we transformed into the happiest spot in the house — bright, warm, and built for two little kids who deserve a place that feels like pure joy every single morning.
This project was about more than color. It was about helping a family feel at home again — on their own terms, in their own way.
