Annunciation — A Full Renovation, Fully Them. Uptown New Orleans

Some renovations are about updating a house. This one was about building a home so specific, so personal, so deeply rooted in who this family actually is — that no one else could ever live in it and feel like it was made for them.

It was.

Our client came to us mid-renovation, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of decisions ahead of her — paint, finishes, fixtures, furniture, hardware. She needed someone to take the wheel while she kept her eyes on the vision. That's exactly what we did.

Downstairs, we designed everything — furniture, the bar, the shelving. The husband loves building things with his hands, so we leaned into that. Every shelf, every detail was designed to look handcrafted, intentional, and a little rustic. Because it wasn't just decor — it was a reflection of him. The powder room went full moody — dark, dramatic, and completely unforgettable.

In the primary bedroom, we created a limewash feature wall in a deep, earthy green — and that awkward little nook that didn't quite know what it was? We turned it into the most special corner in the room. The kind of spot you didn't know you needed until you couldn't imagine the room without it.

Then there's the closet. Half organized for everyday life. Half dedicated — completely, unapologetically — to Mardi Gras costumes. Because this is New Orleans, and some families take carnival seriously. We honored that with a bold, fun carpet and a chandelier that makes getting dressed feel like an event.

The kids' bedrooms were small — so just like in our other projects, we went to the ceiling. Bold color up top, breathing room on the walls. And that little attic nook halfway up the staircase? We transformed it into a secret hideaway for the girls to play in — the kind of magical corner that makes childhood feel like an adventure.

This project was a full renovation. But more than that — it was a portrait of a family. Bold, creative, rooted in this city, and completely themselves.
