Livingston — A New Chapter, Old Metairie

Some projects start with a phone call from a realtor. This one started with a family decision — an older couple leaving Florida behind to be closer to their daughter and start fresh in a new city.

New Orleans wasn't just a new address. It was a new chapter.

They came to us with a home that needed to feel like theirs — warm, bright, and welcoming enough to make a new city feel like home. We updated the kitchen and bathrooms, refreshed the paint throughout, and replaced light fixtures — but the real work was about something less tangible than tile and paint.

It was about light. And ease. And the feeling of walking into a space that wraps around you.

We opened everything up — bigger, lighter, more breathable. We brought in natural light wherever we could find it and designed around the way this couple actually lives. Quietly. Comfortably. Close to family.

This project reminded us why we do what we do. Sometimes the most meaningful design isn't the boldest or the most dramatic. Sometimes it's the space that simply makes someone feel — finally, after a long journey — at home.
