Versailles — A Fresh Start, Uptown New Orleans

Some projects are about more than design. This one was about a new beginning.

Our client — a father of two, about to remarry — came to us with a house full of dark rooms and a heart full of hope. He wanted a home that felt like it was ready for what was coming next. A place where a new family could gather, breathe, and make memories together.

We started in the kitchen — small, dark, and disconnected from the breakfast nook beside it. We removed the wall between them, opened everything up, and added more seating around the island because that's where his kids always wanted to be anyway. We designed around real life, not a magazine.

In the living room, we rebuilt the fireplace in stone, brought in a statement chandelier, and flooded the space with light. The dining room got color and personality. The foyer — once a deep, heavy blue — was transformed into a calm, welcoming entry that sets the tone the moment you walk in.

The whole house went from dark and closed off to warm, open, and full of possibility.

That's what good design does. It doesn't just change how a space looks — it changes how a space feels to live in.
